For students still within their maximum completion time, an exemption from successful completion of no more than two modules (ECC) may be applied to the curriculum of the student if:
- The IIE does not have an equivalent or alternative module available for a student who has not interrupted their study, or
- If the student did interrupt their study and there is also not an equivalent module available at an external provider that can be recognised for credit. (Note: It is the responsibility of the student to find such an external module and to confirm if the module would qualify for credits)
And:
- The modules have not been designated as core to the exit level outcomes of the qualification by the faculty at the time that the phase-out was planned; and
- The total credit value of the two modules being exempted must be less than 20% of the total credits for the qualification.
An application for ECC must be lodged by the student on the Student Hub.
